ALSO Festival — Park Farm, Compton Verney, Warwickshire (10th–12th July 2026)
ALSO Festival — 10th–12th July 2026 (Park Farm, Compton Verney, Warwickshire). A festival-friendly, live version of Origin of the Pieces: playful musical demos, unexpected stories, and a few “steal this and use it forever” listening tricks — designed to make music feel less like a mysterious force-field and more like something you can actually read. I’m at ALSO in a few different guises across the weekend: you can also catch Shellectronica (conch shells + electronics + immersive oceanic oddness) and my Late Night Live Film Score too.
Found Festival — Claydon Estate, Buckinghamshire (28th–30th August 2026)
Found Festival, Claydon Estate — 28th–30th August 2026. I’m bringing Origin of the Pieces to Found for a live, recorded episode: a musically-curious deep-dive that’s welcoming to non-musicians, satisfying for musicians, and allergic to pretension. Also at Found: my immersive conch-and-electronics project Shellectronica, and I’ll be on site with Hackney Colliery Band too — so you can catch me in multiple flavours across the weekend.
Wilton’s Music Hall — Tuesday 19th May 2026 (7pm)
Steve Pretty (and Friends) On the Origin of the Pieces is the live version of the podcast: part gig, part stories, part hands-on “how does this actually work?” sonic tinkering — all aimed at helping you hear and enjoy music in new ways.
This one’s a proper variety night: live music, conversation, demos, and a few gentle ambushes of your musical assumptions — whether you’re a shower-singer, a seasoned musician, or anything in between.
Guests include cult-indie legend Jim Bob (Carter USM) plus The Ocean Songs Project (Lottie P, Nic Pendlebury, Colin Riley, and Steve on trumpet/shells/electronics).
